This might be a bit of an obvious post, but I think we all get stuck in the jeans and sweater rut when the weather turns cold. Not that there’s anything wrong with jeans and a sweater. It’s a great combination in fact and a wonderful go-to for the colder months, but in case you want to shake things up a bit, I’m going to share 2 more ways in which you can style your favorite cozy knits this season.
With a Dress
This option has gotten more popular in recent years, but in case you have yet to try it or that style rut has tossed it out of your mind, I thought I’d add it here. Just pull your favorite summer dress out of your closet and throw a matching (or contrasting) sweater on top and you’re ready to face the day. This has the added benefit of giving you more use out of your summer wardrobe in case your winters are long and summers short like they are here.
If it speaks to you, I’m wearing:
Burgundy dress, similar here, here and here
Burgundy sweater, similar here, here and here
Black boots, similar here, here and here
Cropped with High-Waist Pants
Cropped sweaters can get a bit tricky to wear on their own since they’re a bit warm for the summer and a bit cold to wear with a pair of jeans (at least for me). The perfect solution is to pair them with a pair of high-waist pants. This will keep you warm and toasty sans exposed skin for the wind to sink its teeth into and will allow you to show off all the figure-flattering effects of those high waist-pants without the bulk of tucking in your sweater.
If it speaks to you, I’m wearing:
Pink cropped sweater, similar here, here and here
High waist pants, similar here, here and here
Black boots, similar here, here and here
Black parka, similar here, here and here
Thank you for reading. Be kind. Be you.

February 20, 2019 at 11:34 amYour knits look so cute and cosy although I smiled at the ‘winters being longer than summers’ as it’s the opposite here, we have the heat more than the cold, haha! I do love layering a knit over a dress when it’s winter though! 🙂
Hope that your week is going well 🙂

February 21, 2019 at 5:25 amYour photos are dreamy and seem to exist in another world especially in the first outfit. I like wearing dresses too with boots on winter, it just looks chic and more feminine.

February 22, 2019 at 2:49 amI love both of these ways of wearing a sweater! Wearing it over a dress is something I have really enjoyed doing this year. The burgundy sweater looks great with that burgundy dress! And I love the colors in the cropped sweater you’re wearing.
