Polar Bear Style – 5 Ways to Wear Green

5 Ways to Wear Green

Green in all shades is a pretty big trend for fall 2019 so I thought now is a perfect time to share five ways to wear green. I’ve always liked green, but found darker green shades hard to wear for some reason. I say for some reason because I recently discovered olive for myself and that made me realize that darker shades of green are actually pretty neutral and can be styled with a variety of colors and pieces. Hopefully this post and video will give you some ideas on how to wear green this season. Let me know your favorite way to wear green!

Dress

The first and easiest way to wear any trend or color is as a dress, which is what did for this outfit. I paired a light green dress with a subtle floral print with warm-toned pieces. I thought the light color of the dress went well with the light cream lace tights, light belt and camel shoes. Since I had a lot of beige tones in the outfit, I finished off the look with a brown faux leather jacket to match them and add some warmth.

Casual Leggings

I know printed leggings are not for everyone, but I’ve always liked them and while this particular outfit is casual, I find that there are definitely ways to style them in a dressier way. In this case I embraced the casual vibe though, by pairing my green leggings with a long graphic tee and a pair of black combat boots. I then added a cream cardigan to lighten up the look a bit.

Cami

A delicate cami is a great piece to wear in any color. It could definitely be styled in a very feminine way, but in this case I wanted to create an edgier outfit. I did this by pairing it with a pair of distressed dark jeans and a matching dark denim jacket. A pair of mint earrings match the cami and a pair of olive boots add another shade of green and complete the look.

Animal Prints

I already showed you a green piece with a print in the outfit with the green floral dress, but this time I’m styling another green print; leopard. Leopard (and any animal print) is another big trend this season, but if you don’t like traditional leopard, you could always go for a different colored version. I’ve had this leopard top for a while and find it surprisingly easy to style. In this case I contrasted the dark printed top with light denim which is where my jeans come in. I then matched the light blue jeans with a cozy cardigan and the green of the top with a pair of olive ankle boots.

4 Shades of Green

Clearly one shade of green wasn’t enough for me so I went with four and it’s not even a monochrome outfit. The first of these shades is a very dark emerald (my sweater) that I contrasted with two different light greens (my base layer and my scarf). I then added yet another shade of green with my olive ankle boots (this is my only pair of green shoes so it appears in this post a lot). A pair of dark jeans works with the dark color of the sweater and completes the look.
