Fashion trends can be crazy or fashion trends can be wearable. This time I’m going to focus on the 2020 spring/summer fashion trends that I think are the most wearable. This is of course a matter of opinion so let me know if you agree or disagree 🙂

Peach and Orange

Color trends are generally easier to style than other trends just because it’s easier to wear a solid color than a print so peach and orange is no exception. I toughen up my light peach dress with a pair of black combat boots.

 

 

 

Polka Dots

Polka dots are not for everyone, but if you like them, that’s good news because they’re on trend and are quite wearable if you pick a piece in a neutral color scheme. I styled my black and white polka dot dress with a simple pair of black ankle boots to match the black in the print.

 

 

 

Slip Dresses

Slip dresses are one of my favorite things to wear (although my significant other tends to call them pretty nightgowns :)). They can be layered under t-shirts and long sleeve tops or over them and can be paired with denim jackets, blazers or leather jackets for colder weather. I wore my slip dress with a scarf and over-the-knee boots though, for a more artsy vibe (I hope).

 

 

 

Leather

Leather is a great because it comes in so many different colors many of which are neutral. Black is my personal favorite, but it also comes in white, brown, grey, etc. Because of this, it’s really very wearable. You can always replace your go-to pieces with their leather alternatives; replace your jeans with leather pants, replace your denim jacket with a leather jacket, etc. In this case, I’m wearing my leather leggings with a distressed top and combat boots for a grungier look.

 

 

 

Metallic

Metallic might not seem like a very wearable fashion trend, but when you consider the fact that it works with any other color, it suddenly becomes a lot easier to wear. I love metallic clothing because it makes it look like you tried a lot harder than you did. For example, you can throw on any top with a metallic skirt and look dressed-up or any pair of jeans with a metallic top and be ready for a night out. It makes putting together an outfit really easy.

 

 

 

Beige

Beige is generally considered a neutral so it can be worn with pretty much anything. I make use of that fact by wearing beige pants with a sequin top layered with a sheer blouse.

 

 

 

Classic Blue

Classic blue is definitely easy to wear since it’s quite close to navy; a neutral. You can always pair it with bright colors for a fun summer look or go for a monochrome outfit like I did.

 

 

 

Brown

Brown is a neutral just like beige so can be worn with most other colors. I keep my color scheme neutral by pairing brown with white for a more bohemian outfit.

 

 

 

Lace

Lace can be both dressy and casual depending on how you style it and the item you wear. I paired my lace top with a bra and a skirt in matching colors, but it would be easier to layer a tank top underneath it for more coverage.

 

 

 

Ivory

Ivory is probably one of the most wearable trends. It’s pretty much just a warm-toned white and so the only thing you have to worry about when wearing it is stains (which I seem to attract like a magnet). I paired my ivory top with pink leggings because I wanted to offset the brighter color with a neutral tone.
