Summer might be gone, but there’s no reason to retire your summer dresses unless you want to do so. Personally, I plan to keep wearing mine throughout the year. Summer is quite short where I live and winter is long so if I put away my summer clothes, I would get very little wear out of pieces I love. Like the dress I’m wearing here (which I also wore during warmer weather here). There are several ways to warm up your dresses, but one of the easiest is by wearing them with boots and throwing a sweater on top. This gives you the best of both worlds, allowing your dress to shine and keeping you super cozy in the process.
Thank you for reading. Be kind. Be you.
If it speaks to you, I’m wearing:
Lilac sweater, similar here, here and here
Polka dot dress, similar here, here and here

January 19, 2019 at 8:23 amWearing summer dresses in winter is such a great way to get the best of both words. Layering is always fun, so this gives us an opportunity to have fun with layering.. love your purple (lilac) sweater.

January 19, 2019 at 10:38 pmYou layer so well! It’s funny as it’s the opposite here – while I do layer up my summer pieces for winter (and this is a great way to do it!) it’s warmer for longer here and winter is such a short time. I definitely have more summer pieces than winter pieces, but it’s nice to wear the summer ones year-round!
Hope that you are having a wonderful weekend 🙂 Our summer heatwave is continuing, today will be a quiet day in the aircon I think!

January 20, 2019 at 7:42 pmLayering a sweater over a summer dress is a really smart idea, and I love how this outfit looks! The purple sweater looks beautiful on you and it goes great with the polka dots of the dress. I was inspired when you posted this on Instagram that I’m actually wearing a similar outfit today, so thank you the inspiration!

January 21, 2019 at 9:14 pmHi Kath
I love the color of your sweater and the velvet touch of the mesh.
As I understand you, I also don’t like having my summer clothes in the closet. But you’re braver than me !!! The way you dressed this dress I would say that I was also able to wear mine !! You look lovely, my dear!
take care
