The weather gets ever lovelier although the trees and grass are all still brown and sleeping from the winter. The days are still darker and more somber than the summer sun will bring, but they are lovely nonetheless. I confess, I hadn’t spent much time outside lately; especially during the day. Being able to see the sun (such as it is) improved my mood significantly. Taking photos for this blog is a wonderful excuse to spend some extra time outdoors and I can’t wait for the weather to warm up enough for me to be able to go hiking again.

I’m wearing the burgundy sweater I wore here again in this look, paring it with burgundy over-the-knee boots for a bit of color matching. The white jeans provide a nice background for the darker burgundy colors to pop. The gold necklace I’m wearing has the tan/brown colors that are so present in my jacket (faux fur of course). I love the jacket by the way. It’s quite warm (though not warm enough for the middle of winter) and the fur looks almost real. Imitation is the highest form of flattery and I find nature and animals beautiful so I love pieces that remind me of that.
