Here we’ve been “blessed” with snow, but I know a lot of you have been experiencing warm weather and summer is definitely coming! So on that happy note, I thought I’d share some casual summer outfits.
This is a somewhat different video style for me and I thought I’d try it out. I hope you like it.

I find that the key to mixing prints is to keep things in the same color family. Here my blue plaid pants are matched by my blue floral jacket.
Grey is a neutral color and so a grey top is good to wear with a more demanding print on the bottom. Mesh inserts provide ventilation! 😉
Tie-dye is still a trend this year if you’re into that sort of thing, which I am! I like to wear my tie-dye on the bottom with a black graphic tee and combat boots to channel the 90s.
An overall dress can be an easy thing to drown in, so I like to add a belt to show that I do have a waist somewhere under there even if it is very well hidden 🙂
Pairing black and blue is always easy, and sticking to dark denim makes a casual outfit a bit dressier.
Clearly I narrowly escaped being mauled by a polar bear! My top, on the other hand, was not so lucky 🙂
The wide blue pants gave me sailor vibes so I decided to run with the theme by adding black and white stripes and a red scarf.
It’s not obvious on the photo, but the top is actually sparkly and the sparkles on the navy background reminded me of starts so I continued the space theme with my kimono.
Denim skirts are an easy option for a summer outfit. They go with pretty much any top and pair of shoes, and can be dressed up or down.
Adding a black blazer to a denim skirt and tee outfit helps to dress it up a bit. Rolling up the sleeves keeps you cool in warm weather.
An easy way to style a print is to keep the rest of the outfit neutral – like the navy and black look I have here.
I find a denim skirt to be a bit dressier than a pair of jeans, but it’s just as comfy and just as versatile.
If you want to dress down a dress, you can always add a denim jacket.
A comfy way to dress down a dress is by wearing it with sneakers.
I mentioned that you can dress down a dress with a denim jacket or sneakers, but you can also go for all of the above!
I like to throw in a grungier outfit here and there for good measure!
I like to pair denim jackets with my grungier outfits since it keeps the 90s casual vibe going.
A pair of jeans and a graphic tee is a classic outfit, but tucking in your tee makes it look like you put in just a bit of effort and works especially well if your jeans are high-waisted.
A jeans a tee outfit can be dressed up just a bit by adding a blazer.
It’s hard to get more casual than a pair of jeans and a plain tee, but tucking it is and matching your shoes to the color of the tee makes it an outfit, right?
Thank you for reading/watching. Be you. Always.

May 16, 2020 at 3:26 amThese are really cute outfits! I really like the overall dress and while it does get too hot here in summer for denim jackets I love adding a denim jacket over a printed dress in spring or autumn like you’ve done here! 🙂
Hope that you are having a lovely weekend 🙂
