Bell sleeves of various sizes, lengths and types have been around for some time now and while I love them, they are not the most outrageous (by which I of course mean interesting and fun) sleeve type. I believe that honor goes to the gathered puffed sleeve. This is an 80s inspired trend and I love its somewhat outlandish nature. For me, it is reminiscent of the sleeves of the 1800s or, as was recently pointed out to me, pirate sleeves. Both of these interpretations make me giddy with happiness (or you know, just normally joyful).

This is definitely a trend that may seem daunting at first, but if it calls to you, I say embrace it! Speaking of which, a safer way to embrace it is by choosing a top with puffed gathered sleeves in a solid neutral color or a neutral pattern (like the grey and white stripe pattern on my top). Skinny jeans provide a nice counter-balance to the large amount of volume your upper half is sporting due to the sleeves.
