These were my birthday nails. I went with a somewhat bohemian manicure with Swarovski crystals. There’s nothing quite like Swarovski crystals. They are incredibly shiny and have a huge variety of colors. The problem is that they need to be attached with nail glue since covering them with topcoat decreases their shine significantly. This also provides greater security which is important since losing Swarovski crystals is a lot more unpleasant than losing acrylic ones. Sadly this extra security makes them quite difficult to remove when it is time to do so. All things must be paid for it seems…

For this manicure I used the yellow opal crystals with a somewhat bohemian set of black decals. The moons, feathers and chains are so dainty and pretty that I decided to pair them with an equally dainty color. The pastel yellow provides a great complementing background without distracting from the decals or the opalescent crystals.
