There are quite a few ways to make an outfit more interesting by adding layering or accessories like jewelry, a scarf or a belt, but adding a vest is one of my favorites. I’m a big fan and own several in a variety of neutral colors, though not necessarily neutral fabrics (I’m looking at you faux leather). It’s so easy to throw a vest over a look that’s missing a touch of something special or to make a dress, sweater or top that you’ve worn a lot into something completely new.

Faux leather vests are generally my thing since I like the rock and roll vibe they have, but the one I’m wearing today is made of fabric. It has a really fun triangular shape though and little studs to keep me interested. And it blends into the grey, black and white color scheme I have going in this look.
