Tie-dye is another one of these trends that I’m sure a lot of people are not thrilled about and plan to pass on, but the bohemian side of me is all for it. I am surprised that it’s on-trend, but it not being on-trend hadn’t stopped me from wearing it in the past. I can see how it might not be for everyone though, but in case you’re interested in trying out the trend, I’m sharing two outfit ideas below.
With Neutrals and Metallic Accessories
Tie-dye can be a bit loud and a bit on the casual side so a great way to tone it down and simultaneously dress it up is with neutrals and metallics. If you have a tie-dye item in black, white or grey tones, a good pairing is with olive and black with metallic accessories like a belt and/or earrings to spice things up.

With a Blazer
I’ve mentioned that die-dye can look overly casual (like you’re planning to be at the beach sometimes soon), which is not necessarily a bad look, but if that’s not what you’re going for, it can be hard to break that aesthetic. A great way to do this is with a blazer. If your tie-dye print is light, this can be a neutral light-colored blazer like white or beige and if it’s dark, a darker blazer in black or navy (like the one I’m wearing) will do the trick.

July 3, 2019 at 7:30 amTie-dye makes me nostalgic, I remember the nineties and all the tie- dye DIY projects I tried my hands at. Perhaps I should do it again and give DIY tie-dye another try.
I love both of these outfits. The way you styled that cropped tie-dye top with olive pants is fabulous. You look stunning in this look. The second outfit with the tie-dye pants is gorgeous as well. I like how you styled them with boots and a blazer. I agree that the tie-dye outfits are not the easiest to dress up but you have a great job. Dressing them up with a blazer is a lovely idea.

July 7, 2019 at 8:29 pmYou styled both tie-dye pieces perfectly! Tie-dye is something I used to love wearing but I had no idea it was back on trend. The tie-dye leggings look great with the blazer, and I love the top paired with the olive pants!
