How to Wear 2 Color Trends of 2019

There are quite a few new trends every year which is why I’m a big proponent of only picking up the trends that you love and will wear even when they’re not trending (especially since those are the most fun to style). This time I’m going to focus on color trends, which are nice because they give you a lot more freedom in choosing how you want to interpret the trend and the pieces you will use to do this.

 

Copper Red

Rather than cherry red (although that always looks great), the colors of the season lean more towards reds with brown and orange tones. Rich warm tones were on trend in the fall and continue to be in the winter, spring and summer. But just because they’re bright, it doesn’t mean that they can’t be worn with other statement pieces. A statement skirt with a pattern in another rich tone like yellow, brown, tan, orange etc. pairs well to create a statement look. Of course coppery reds also look great with neutrals that make them the focal point of the outfit.

Turmeric Orange

As a yellowish/brownish orange tone, this is probably the happiest color of the twp. It’s bright and warm and reminds me of a fall harvest or a warm sunset on a beach. It’s perfect to wear in the while it’s still cold to give yourself a nice boost and in warmer weather for a happy vibe. Because it’s a brighter color, I paired it with dark pieces that helped bring out the warm tones. Since the sweater is fairly plain, I added some pattern with my floral leggings and a bit more visual interest with a long necklace.
