There are items we love the look of and are excited to wear and style and then there are the items that we actually reach for over and over. Sometimes these are the same things, sometimes not. Since winter is coming to an end, I thought I would share with you two surprising items that I found myself reaching a lot for this winter.

Tassel Necklace

I’m actually shocked that this necklace is on this list. I got it on sale because I liked the idea and because it was cheap, but I thought that while it would stay in my wardrobe for years, I would only wear it once in a while. It was a close call and I almost didn’t get it, but I’m so glad I did because it is now one of my go-to pieces to wear with sweaters (like I wore here). I like that it’s both simple and fun and the long plain chain is surprisingly versatile. Because of the length, I don’t have to worry about trying to match it to the neckline of whatever I’m wearing and the simple metal goes with any color I might wear.

Pink Jeans

This is another surprise since pink is not really a color I reach for that often. I’ve had a pair of pink jeans for years and I think I used to wear it a few times per season in the past. But I guess this year I really went for it. I now realize that pink jeans are surprisingly versatile (a surprise to me at least) and I found myself reaching for them when I wore a pink sweater for that monochrome look and just as happily pairing them with brown, white and grey. It’s such a light pretty color that I found myself really enjoying it on gloomy days like here, here and here.
