Valentine’s Day is still 2 weeks away, but sometimes it’s nice to plan early. It’s a holiday that has become quite commercialized and has therefore gotten a bad rep with some, but I think that it could be nice if you look at it the right way. I used to not celebrate Valentine’s Day, but now that I’m with my husband, I realize that sometimes it’s nice to have a holiday reminding you to have some fun together. I’m not saying that it has to be Valentine’s Day in order for this to happen, but for me in particular, it’s nice to have that extra push.
As I’m into style, it’s also nice to plan a fun outfit to wear and red velvet is a great option for Valentine’s Day. A red dress is always a winner, but velvet has the added benefits of being warm and luxurious and a tad more dressy. Since it’s still the middle of winter here, I had to warm up the look further by adding a pair of black boots and a black faux fur vest, both of which also added more texture and visual diversity so I think it’s a win-win.

I love to celebrate Valentine’s day. Typically my husband and me go on a trip, get out of the city for a bit or something of the sort, it’s nice to take some time for our significant other.
