The holidays are almost here and there’s a definite feeling of celebration in the air. Holiday songs are playing in every store. So many houses are lit up in a very cheerful manner. There are string-lights wrapped around street lights and giant Christmas trees in most malls. All of these things are helping one to get into the holiday spirit, but another way to do that is to dress up just a bit (or a lot) and really feel those festive vibes. The looks below are my version of the later.
A Sequin Dress
A sequin dress is so easy to slip on to instantly feel more festive. It’s perfect for parties, but great for every-day wear when you want to fell a bit more dressed up. Pairing it with a cozy scarf and cardigan is a great way to warm up the look and make it more appropriate for winter. It also dresses it down a bit for a more casual event. If you want to dress it up though, just replace the cozy cardigan with a blazer (or skip covering your arms if you think the venue will be warm enough for that) and replace the scarf with a pretty pair of earrings or a bracelet.
If it speaks to you, I’m wearing:
Black sequin dress, similar here, here and here
White scarf, similar here, here and here
Cozy cardigan, similar here, here and here
Black boots, similar here, here and here
A Lace Dress
Sequins are not your only option for the holidays when it comes to dresses. Lace is always a great option and you can go for a brighter color for a fun vibe or for a more neutral color for an elegant vibe. Both are great to wear to parties or just to slip into when running errands to make them a bit more fun. Yes, I did run errands in that outfit, but I also saw a movie afterwards with my husband so it was kind of a date. Tying a button-down shirt over the dress is a great way to warm it up and dress it down a bit. If you want to dress it up though, the suggestions for the sequin dress apply here as well.

Black button down, similar here, here and here

Holiday Nails
Why keep the festive vibe only to your outfits when you can also indulge in a festive manicure? This is great to pair with a festive outfit, or on its own if you want to keep your festive style more subtle. Gold flakes are a great option for holiday nails, but here I decided to incorporate the currently-trending leopard print and some red bow nails. A more subtle version would be to stick to only one of the later options or to go with gold foils on their own.
If it speaks to you, I used:
China Glaze Strong Adhesion base coat, here
China Glaze Fast Forward top coat, here
OPI “My Vampire is Buff” nail polish, here
Red bow nail decals, as part of a set here or similar here
Leopard full nail decals, similar as part of a set here and here
Nail foils, as part of a set here
Thank you for reading. Be kind. Be you.

December 23, 2018 at 2:40 amAll of these outfits are beautiful! I really love the sequin dress paired with the cozy cardigan. And having holiday nails brings back so many memories from when I was younger and would do my nails for every holiday. I might need to give that a try again this year.
