Maxi dresses are great for all occasions and incredibly easy to slip on, but if you’re not into them, a maxi skirt is a great alternative. They do require a bit more work, but can always be worn with a neutral top to create an effortless outfit. They’re just as comfortable as maxi dresses in the summer and actually provide more styling options.

An easy way to style a maxi skirt is by throwing on a neutral top, but you can also get a maxi skirt in a neutral color and wear it as a basic. If you’re into a more colorful version like the pink skirt I’m wearing, a fun way to go is monochrome. You can always go wilder with your combination though, and pair it with something more unexpected like a tropical print red top. A printed skirt (perhaps tropical or floral for summer) can be styled just as easily by reversing the tips above. There really is no end to your options.
