When I’m coming up with a manicure (or an outfit for that matter), I usually start with one aspect of it that catches my eye and work my way towards the rest.
The dark designs were my starting point here. They needed a light base and I wanted a polish that would be interesting on its own hence I pulled out the pearl grey. I also knew I wanted to play on the jewel part of the design somehow and so I echoed it with the opal beads. This worked out well since the grey (despite its pearly quality) is quite a subtle color and the design needed a bit more punch which the 3D beads provide. What’s your process for creating a look (outfit, makeup or nail)?
Thank you for reading. Be kind. Be you.
If it speaks to you, I used:
China Glaze Strong Adhesion base coat, here
China Glaze Fast Forward top coat, here
Black bohemian decals, as part of a set here
Opal beads, similar here
China Glaze ‘Pearl Jammin’ nail polish, here

July 17, 2018 at 11:22 amHi Kath
I usually start by having a story in my head that I want to tell on the blog, and then I go to my wardrobe to pick out the clothes that best serve my story. I must tell you that your nails have such rich and extremely beautiful details. I admire this artwork because I am a real zero ahahah
Lots of love
