On a dark and stormy night, I sat alone looking out into the darkness and then, what’s that? No, I must’ve been mistaken! But alas, I was not mistaken and there was a terrifying creature staring back at me through my bedroom window. Its eyes were like frightening pits that simply oozed fear and it was staring straight into mine…With trembling hands, I reached to close the blinds and put this insufficient barrier between me and this nightmare. And then…The nightmare opened its maw letting its pink tongue loll out and said “woof?” while wagging its tail happily. And thus ends my slightly exaggerated story…For that night.

On the next dark and stormy night, I decided that it was time for a Halloween manicure. As promised, I’m bringing you the less subtle version of Halloween nails, complete with ghosts, pumpkins and skeletons all over polish that is black as the blackest night!

I knew I wanted the base of this manicure to be black and that I have a set of Halloween-themed nail decals that I wanted to use so I made sure to choose ones that are light enough to stand out against the black base. I also wanted to add a little bit more sparkle (okay, a lot more sparkle) and added a layer of orange glitter flakes around the decals and some Swarovski crystals to really spice things up. What you see is the result.
