I read The Blade Itself last month. Logan was an alright character and I liked the inquisitor character as well. However, I was disappointed by the lack of strong female characters (I already forgot her name). There is one female character that is a fighter of some kind (an ex-slave), but she is portrayed as really dumb and that was disappointing. I wish she wasn’t so two dimensional. The other female character started off well and seemed clever, but then she got turned into a passive victim. Supposedly she plays a bigger part in the sequels but I’m not sure will I read them.

I agree with you about the lack of interesting female characters. It didn’t really bother me because I know that it wouldn’t bother me if there was a lack of interesting male characters in a book instead (unless one was a main character). I honestly just really loved the writing style here and the world. But I definitely see where you’re coming from 🙂
