Shorts are not traditional fall attire, but they can be a great slightly unexpected piece to wear in that season regardless. Short skirts paired with fall elements are a relatively frequent sight, but I think shorts work just as well.

With a Knit

This type of outfit follows the same principles that the short skirt and knit outfit does. Just replace the skirt with a pair of shorts and you’re good to go. A great way to take this further into fall is to add a pair of tights for some texture and a pair of over-the-knee boots for warmth or just because they look good.

With a Long Sleeve Blouse

This is not quite the same as wearing shorts with a knit since a long sleeve blouse has a dressier feel. You can make this look more fall-appropriate by adding a fun pair of tights and a pair of boots. In this case, I offset the dressiness of the blouse with combat boots.

I must admit that I had this post prepared for a while, but forgot to post it so this look is too light for me to wear with the current weather conditions. Hopefully it’s still warm enough where you are, and if not, you could always modify it by replacing the lace tights with a thicker version.
