I’ve already shared what I thought were some of the most wearable trends of the season, but now I’m going to share the opposite. I’m going to share 10 of craziest trends (that are still fun to wear)!
Sorry about the audio by the way, my old mic died and I’m still trying to figure the kinks.

Neon
Neon is probably the craziest trend of 2020, but I’ve actually always liked it. I think it can be a lot of fun and if paired with more neutral items (like white pants), it can actually become easier to wear.
Fringe
Just like neon, I’ve always liked fringe and have actually owned the fringe leather jacket I’m wearing for quite a few years and it’s one of my favorite jackets. I do like to limit my fringe items to just a single piece per outfit though, to make it easier to wear.
Tropical Prints
Tropical prints are often reserved for beach vacations, but I find that they become much more appropriate for the city when you find a piece in a neutral color. Pairing them with slightly edgier items like distressed jeans also works well.
Sequins
Sequins are very rarely used for daytime wear, which is a shame because they shine brighter in the daytime after all 🙂 Personally, I’ve started wearing them for daytime looks and haven’t looked back. I think the key is to pair them with more neutral pieces like a beige pair of pants and a grey plaid blazer.
Bralette Top
Wearing a bralette top can be daunting and problematic for certain occasions, but I find that one of the ways to make it more wearable is by pairing it with items that cover up large portions of the rest of your body.
Sheer
Wearing a sheer piece can get a bit tricky, but there’s no need to be worried because one of the easiest ways to make it more wearable is to wear something underneath. For example, you could always wear a tank top in a light color under a light colored sheer top.
Statement Sleeves
Statement sleeves are one of my favorite style elements. They can vary from huge puffy versions to more demure lantern sleeves like the paisley top I’m wearing. I ended up doing some print mixing by pairing my paisley statement sleeve top with my snake print leggings, but an easier way to wear it would be to pair it with something neutral.
Vintage Wallpaper Prints
Vintage wallpaper prints tend to be a bit funky and thus can get a bit hard to style, but just like with any difficult print, you can always pair it with pieces that match one of the colors in the print. I did that in my outfit by pairing my mostly black vintage wallpaper print kimono with a black top and black boots.
Colorful Leather
Colorful leather is probably my absolute favorite out of the trends I shared here. I think the problems with wearing colorful leather can stem from having difficulty styling leather, having difficulty style color or all of the above. If the problem is with styling leather, a good trick is to pretend that your leather piece is a denim piece and just wear it as you would wear your denim item. So pretend that your leather pants are a pair of jeans or that your leather skirt is a denim skirt, etc. If the problem is color though, a great way to wear color is to keep the rest of your outfit neutral. And if the problem was both, do both 🙂
Animal Print
Animal prints are considered crazy by some and a neutral by others (especially leopard print). If you do have trouble with animal prints, you can always make them easier to wear by pairing them with your neutral of choice; whether that’s pink, white, beige, grey, or black (my personal favorite).
Thank you for reading/watching. Be you. Always.

Hope you are having a lovely weekend 🙂

June 18, 2020 at 9:01 pmI love them all too! But I think often people do think they’re harder to wear 🙂
As for my health, it’s not really resolved, but I’m doing my best despite it…:)
