I hope your month is going well so far. Today I’m sharing a post/video with dark academia outfit ideas. I hope you like it 🙂

Plaid skirt and turtleneck
Plaid skirts are a big part of the dark academia aesthetic. Most people go for shorter versions, but I think a longer skirt works just as well. I added a rust colored turtleneck and a necklace in a grey color that matched the skirt.
Turtleneck and combat boots
This is a really casual outfit. I kept to the dark academia color scheme of browns and rust colors to make the outfit cohesive.
Purple top and trench coat
Purple is not usually a color you see for the dark academia aesthetic, but my purple top was dark enough for me to think it would work anyways. I kept the rest of the outfit within the more traditional color scheme of beige and brown.
Rust dress and blazer
This is a slightly dressier outfit. I wore a rust dress here and added a black blazer for structure, but dressed it down a bit with a pair of combat boots and opaque tights.
Brown corduroy pants and sweater
This is another casual look that I kept to a brown/rust color scheme. I went for flared corduroy pants here for a more vintage feel.
Brown pants and black trench coat
Black and brown is a classic dark academia color combination and I’m generally a fan of wearing these colors together (though I know some people don’t like them). It’s always easy to put together an outfit made of neutrals.
Monochrome black
A monochrome black look is another great option for a dark academia outfit. I went for a top with some structured details around the neckline for that “academia” feel.
Dark green pants and black trench coat
Dark green is another color often associated with the dark academia aesthetic. Here, I went for a pair of dark green pants and kept the rest of the outfit black for a more dramatic look.
Dark green pants and white button down
A button down top is a classic dark academia piece. I layered a black turtleneck under mine here for a bit of extra warmth.
White dress and black blazer
A white dress is a bit more light academia than dark academia, but I kept the rest of my outfit black so I think in the end the result worked for the aesthetic.
White dress and trench coat
I’m wearing the white dress again here, but this time I switched out the blazer for a black trench coat and the combat boots for a pair of over-the-knee boots. This is a great option for a slightly colder day.
Jeans and black trench coat
I know some people don’t think jeans are a part of the dark academia aesthetic, but I think they can be as long as most of the outfit still belongs to it. Here I added a dark rust sweater, black boots and a black trench to my jeans to get that dark academia vibe.
Burgundy dress and combat boots
I dressed down the dress here with a pair of lace tights and combat boots for a more comfy vibe.
Brown skirt and trench coat
This outfit has a lot of brown, which is definitely one of the colors associated with dark academia. I added a trench coat to add a bit of structure to an otherwise casual look.
Thank you for reading/watching. Be you. Always.
